It may sound silly, but I still remember the day I got my first mechanical watch, 7 years ago... my 18th birthday gift was this Junkers Dessau 1926 "Flatline" with the exposed balance wheel on the dial side. I don't use it as much as I did while I was studying (the everyday watch is now the Seiko "Mini Turtle"), but I do keep it in the watch box as constant reminder of where it all started.
